Recognising exceptional new talent in games development and design – defined as someone who has been working in games development for under 3 years

Entry Criteria:
 
  • Please provide a summary of achievements in the games development sector, including but not limited to:
    • Ideas you have spearheaded
    • Technical skills you have acquired
    • How these skills and ideas have been successfully implemented in the production of a game 
    • Please provide a list of the roster of games worked on that have achieved financial or critical success, and specifically how the nominee’s work contributed to this
  • Please include testimonials from colleagues and clients regarding this person and their work. 
 
Recognising talent in games development and design, this award is for an individual who has been working in the games development industry for more than three years. 

Entry Criteria:
 
  • Please provide examples of creative success in the last year, particularly focusing on the development, conception and design of games.
  • Please include details of projects that the nominee has led or contributed to and illustrations of how this person’s involvement helped the game achieve critical or commercial success. 
  • How has this person helped others in the team fulfil their potential? Please include any examples of efforts to nuture talent in games development. 
  • Please include testimonials from colleagues and clients regarding this person and their work. 
 
This category recognises a leading up-and-coming talent working in the business/commercial side of the games industry. Nominees must have been working in the games industry for 3 years or less. 

Entry criteria: 
 
  • Please provide examples of exceptional achievements as part of this person’s role. This can include work across publishing, distribution, PR, marketing or retail. 
  • Please include details of titles and projects the nominee has contributed to, with examples of how their input assured success. 
  • Please include testimonials from colleagues and clients regarding this person and their work. 
 
This award will recognise an executive who has had a stellar 12 months in terms of driving a company forward and generating significant revenues. Nominees must have been working in the games industry for more than three years.

Entry criteria: 
 
  • Please include examples of how this person has achieved commercial success over the past year, with details of practices, policies and projects that they have implemented that have contributed
  • Please include details of this person’s management style, and testimonials from colleagues and clients as to their leadership talents and business acumen.
  • If possible, please include examples of sales figures/sales growth – please note these will remain confidential to the NewBay team and Women in Games judging panel
 
This category will recognise the women out there who tirelessly dedicate themselves to encouraging and mentoring others in the games industry. 

Entry criteria: 
 
  • Please include details of how this person has made a different to the careers and aspirations of others
  • Please provide examples of circumstances in which this person has supported and directly influenced the achievements of someone else 
  • Please provide anecdotal evidence of their positive leadership and mentoring style, and their contribution to the industry as a professional role model 
 
This category will shine a spotlight on a woman who is positively contributing to the new world of eSports, from players to those who are working for a broadcaster, publisher, developer, or any other organisation involved in this vibrant and fast growing sector.

Entry criteria: 
 
  • Please provide details of this woman’s impact on the world of eSports – for example:
    • Sales figures
    • Game reviews
    • Viewing numbers 
  • Please provide testimonials from others working in eSports as to this person’s contribution to the field
 
This award will reflect upon the life of someone who has had a lengthy and successful career at the top of the industry, making positive contributions to the commercial success and public profile of the games industry.
 
Entry criteria:
 
  • Please include examples of this person’s long term impact on the games industry, including but not limited to:
    • Financial success in terms of products and the fortunes of a company
    • Leadership within their team, organisation and/or the wider industry
    • Assisting with industry charity efforts
    • Evangelism for the games industry to the wider world, including television spots and political debates
Recognising exceptional new talent in games development and design – defined as someone who has been studying on a higher education course related to game development and design and/or is in their first year of employment in the games industry following graduation.
 
Entry criteria:
 
  • Please provide a summary of achievements in the games development sector and higher education, including but not limited to: 
    •     Examples of when you have gone above and beyond the criteria and expectations of your degree, and if applicable, throughout your first year of work post-graduation
    • If you have been a finalist or winner in any competitions or awards related to the games industry, e.g. Search for a Star, Dare to be Digital etc.
    • Any extra-curricular activities which contribute to the industry 
    • Examples of contributions made to companies during internships
    • Technical skills you have acquired
    • How these skills and ideas have been successfully implemented in the production of a game or development of a higher education project related to games
  • Please, if available, include testimonials from colleagues, lecturers, course supervisors and clients regarding this person and their work
