Highlighting the year’s outstanding events and AV projects. Nominations in this category are for temporary installations and events managed and delivered by end users that have taken place during 2017. (Click on the titles below for criteria information)

Criteria:

INDIVIDUAL & TEAM EXCELLENCE AWARDS CRITERIA:
 
Who can enter? 
 
  • End users highlighting in-house people and teams
  • Consultants/distributors/manufacturers/systems integrators nominating people or teams with whom they have worked 
  • Other nominations from within the pro AV community will be accepted as long as they contain detailed evidence as to why certain people or teams are worthy of being recognised
 
Recognising a young or emerging AV professional in an end user organisation who has made a standout contribution to the technical, operational, or commercial performance of an end user’s AV team. 
 
Nominations should include:
 
  • Examples of the candidate’s achievements in their role
  • Details of the projects the candidate has made a significant contribution towards
  • Any examples where the candidate’s work has directly resulted in a commercial or operational business benefit
  • Examples of innovation shown in problem solving or bringing a project to completion
All nominations should be supported by case studies and/or testimonials from colleagues/clients where available. Additional imagery or video evidence in support of each nomination is welcome.
 
Nominations should recognise an individual who has shown impressive leadership in the management of an in-house AV team. The judging panel will be looking for candidates that consistently demonstrate technical and operational innovation in bringing AV projects to fruition.
 
Nominations should include: 
 
  • Examples of the candidate’s major achievements in 2017 
  • Details of the projects the candidate has led and successfully delivered 
  • Examples of how the candidate’s leadership has made a positive difference to the business
  • Examples of the AV department’s growth under the candidate’s stewardship
  • Examples of technical or operational innovation being used to create, commission, or complete a project or event 
  • Examples of organisational ability in the management and maintenance of AV systems

Recognising an in-house team that has displayed consistent excellence in the delivery and maintenance of AV solutions within their business, or in the delivery of a major project or event in 2017.
 
Nominations should include:
 
  • Examples of the team’s achievements during the year, including but not restricted to:
    - Consistent excellence in project/event delivery
    - Consistent excellence in project/event management and organisation 
    - Innovative use of solutions to enhance the quality of projects/events
  • Creating business/cost efficiencies 
  • Examples of how the team’s performance has positively benefitted the business

Awarded to an individual in recognition of their service to, and/or influence within, the professional AV industry.
 
Nominations should include some or all of the following: 
 
  • The candidate’s standout career achievements 
  • Their length of service to the industry 
  • Examples of their influence as a business leader, role model, or technical pioneer
  • Testimonials detailing the difference they’ve made within pro AV

TECHNOLOGY EXCELLENCE AWARDS CRITERIA:
 
Who can enter? 
 
  • End users highlighting innovative use of technology solutions in their facility 
  • Consultants/distributors/manufacturers/systems integrators nominating end user facilities for the innovative use/deployment of technology solutions  
  • Anyone within the pro AV community that has been impressed with an end user facility’s use of AV technology solutions in the designated categories
     
This award is for an end user facility whose use of audio solutions have notably improved the quality and/or efficiency of certain areas of their business. This award is for fixed installations ranging from corporate conferencing suites to cultural exhibition spaces. 
 
Nominations should include some or all of the following: 
 
  • Clear demonstration of audio solutions improving the performance of a business area
  • Innovative use of solutions to overcome legacy issues or enhance systems performance 
  • Case study highlighting a single example case
 
All nominations should be supported by case studies and/or testimonials from colleagues/clients where available. Additional imagery or video evidence in support of each nomination is welcome.
 
Awarded to an end user facility for innovative use of projection/display solutions either in a fixed installation or at an event. Nominations can range from large-scale digital signage to projection mapping to innovative video displays.  
 
Nominations should include some or all of the following: 
 
  • Wow factor: proof of excellence and/or innovation in design/presentation 
  • Proof of concept: how these solutions have fulfilled the requirements of the initial brief
  • How the use of these solutions effectively convey company messaging 
  • Any examples where these solutions have contributed to business growth

Highlighting the latest in corporate (in-house) conferencing solutions, remote presentation systems, and meeting/huddle room technology.
 
Nominations should give examples of excellence and/or innovation in: 
 
  • Functionality and usability 
  • Connectivity and reliability 
  • Design and integration (of technology and physical space) 
 
Nominations should also include how the use of new solutions has impacted on productivity and the capabilities of the workforce.

With AV over IP set to grow by a CAGR of nearly 50% over the next five years, the management of signal distribution has never been more pressing. This award looks to recognise the end user teams employing solutions that deliver on the potential of AVoIP.
 
Nominations should include examples of innovative/effective management of: 
 
  • Seamless AV signal distribution over an IP network
  • 4K HDR video signals over an IP network 
  • High quality distribution across multiple regional sites

Awarded to an end user facility or team that has pioneered the use of emerging technology (AR/VR, IoT, AI) to enhance the offering of their AV solutions.
 
Nominations should include some or all of the following: 
 
  • Examples of how the use of emerging technology has positively impacted the performance of a project, event, or existing AV systems 
  • Examples of any direct costs savings/operational efficiencies attributed to the use of emerging technology
 
All nominations should be supported by case studies and/or testimonials from colleagues/clients where available. Additional imagery or video evidence in support of each nomination is welcome.
 
Corporate video has never been higher on the agenda for professional businesses seeking to take advantage of broadcast quality production at decreasing costs. This award highlights both in-house and outsourced corporate video production with an emphasis on production quality, cost control, and of course, the end product.
 
Nominations will be judged on the following criteria: 
 
  • Production quality of the end product
  • The effectiveness of the video in conveying the required messaging 
  • Innovation shown in video capture/post production techniques
  • Ability to deliver a quality production to a budget

PROJECT EXCELLENCE AWARDS CRITERIA:
 
Who can enter? 
 
  • End users highlighting a successful major in-house AV project or event that has made a significant and positive difference to their business 
  • Consultants/distributors/manufacturers/systems integrators nominating a standout end user project/event on which they have worked during 2017
  • Anyone within the pro AV community that has been impressed with the end results of an end user AV project or event 
 
Awarded to an end user for the planning, organisation and management, and delivery of a major AV-enabled event in 2017. Annual and one-off events are eligible for entry where attendance amounts to more than 500 people.
 
Nominations should include some or all of the following: 
 
  • Why the event was a success
  • The critical role AV solutions played in that success
  • The standout AV element of the event
  • The size and scale of the AV operation 
  • Significant obstacles that had to be overcome
 
All nominations should be supported by case studies and/or testimonials from colleagues/clients where available. Additional imagery or video evidence in support of each nomination is welcome.
 
Awarded to an end user for the planning, organisation and management, and delivery of a key AV-enabled event in 2017. Annual, one-off, and periodical events series are eligible for entry where attendance amounts to no more than 500 people per event.
 
Nominations should include some or all of the following: 
 
  • Why the event was a success
  • The critical role AV solutions played in that success
  • The standout AV element of the event
  • The size and scale of the AV operation 
  • Significant obstacles that had to be overcome

Awarded to an end user for the planning, organisation and management, and delivery of a major AV project in 2017. Entries are accepted in all market verticals encompassing corporate, cultural venues, education, hospitality, leisure and entertainment, and retail. Nominations in other market verticals are welcome and should be stated upon entry. 
 
Nominations should include information on the following:
 
  • The scale of the project
  • Timeframe from concept to completion 
  • Outsourced advisers/consultants/integrators used
  • The primary reason for launching the project
 
Nominations should detail some or all of the following:
 
  • Examples of why the project is seen as a success 
  • The tangible benefits the installation has brought to the business
  • Any additional (bonus) benefits 
  • Was the project launched on time and to budget?
