Noriko is currently responsible for assessing the business value and audience benefit of consumer focussed emerging technologies at the BBC’s newly formed Technology Strategy and Architecture department. The team focussed on “ Transforming the BBC’s technology for the future.” Current projects include voice innovation to include safe children’s voice products and next generation audio with a pan BBC approach.
Noriko was formerly employed by Sky’s Product Research Group working on personalisation, voice and innovation to drive consumer engagement for Sky Q, innovation and product research for the Sky Kids app whilst supporting marketing and the Start Up and Investment teams. She began her career working on the UK’s first interactive TV channel back in 1996 for Videotron and has since gone onto work at Cable and Wireless, British Interactive Broadcasting, production companies, advisor to start ups and Sky. She has won two industry awards and filed patents at tier one companies for her innovative projects merging digital products with video to create audience engagement across TV and advertising. Noriko is part of the London WiSTEM Steering committee, a cross-divisional BBC group, which aims to inform, support, and educate women in and into careers in science, technology, engineering and maths.
